At Lomond School, we prepare our pupils for their future by ensuring that they learn the skills necessary to be successful in the 21st century, whilst developing the traditional values and qualities they require to be responsible and active global citizens.

Situated in the coastal town of Helensburgh, on the edge of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and only 40 minutes from Glasgow International Airport, Lomond School provides a perfect setting to deliver a rounded education which inspires both academic and personal achievement.

From Junior 1 to Senior 6, our talented and dedicated teachers deliver a rich and varied curriculum ensuring that all Lomond School pupils are encouraged to love learning right from the start and continue to be challenged and inspired throughout their school career. From Senior 5, pupils study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme with an HNC in Business or Engineering or a NC in Activity Tourism. We were delighted that our recent IB results were significantly higher than the global average.

Times are changing and our overall aim is to ensure that every young person in our care has an education that prepares them for life, challenges them to be the best they can be and inspires them to go out into the world and make a difference.

Beyond academics, our teachers and support staff work together to ensure that every child in our care makes the most of the many opportunities available to them in sport, extra-curricular activities, trips and excursions. There is a strong commitment to outdoor education with lessons in sailing, canoeing and climbing, all part of the curriculum. The learning opportunities such activities present for our young people are limitless, and our guiding principles and values strongly support lessons outside the classroom.

As the West of Scotland's only boarding school, living and studying at Lomond School offers a truly unique experience for boys and girls from the UK and around the world. Our boarding house, Burnbrae, is home to young people from a diverse range of nationalities and backgrounds and its superb location and facilities provide plenty of opportunities for adventure, making it an exciting and cosmopolitan place to learn and grow. As a co-educational house, siblings can live together under one roof and the mix of boys and girls of different ages creates a real family feel, helping our boarders to settle into Lomond School life with ease. We were thrilled that our boarding house was awarded an 'excellent' rating by the Care Inspectorate, making it 'sector leading'.
