Mott Hall Science and Technology Academy is a rigorous math, science, and technology focused middle school. We offer families the opportunity for their children to meet the highest academic expectations and standards, to make smooth transitions to selective high schools, to compete successfully for admission to top public and private colleges and to succeed as a global citizen. Our school culture is characterized by a shared vision for academic excellence, the healthy personal growth of all students, and a commitment to our strong belief that all students can and will succeed in their endeavours.

At Mott Hall, students, faculty, and staff members have a shared vision of the individual's ability to achieve personal success each day as preparation to become active members of our global society. The journey our students embark on when they enter our doors is marked by continuous support and guidance academically, emotionally, and physically, to ensure the holistic development of our young people. Students enter a community that embraces them while challenging them.

Instruction in our school is rooted in collaboration and inquiry, which leads to deeper individual understanding of content and application of this content to real life. Our curriculum remains driven by conceptual learning, using digital activities and personalized differentiation to meet the needs of our students. We aim to provide an equitable education that allows each student to discover and utilize their full potential, while finding joy in learning.

Along with strong support in our classrooms, we create a safe learning environment for our students, nurturing and supporting them as they grow. Students are equipped with tools to overcome obstacles they may face and to help them become understanding and respectful of different identities and cultures. To do so, we focus on our school's core values: respect, responsibility, integrity, compassion, and honesty, along with the International Baccalaureate learner profile traits. With these tools, our students become lifelong learners ready to actively participate in the world.

In 2014, our school became the first New York City public middle school to be certified as an International Baccalaureate Middle Years programme. In addition, we have been a certified Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) model school since 2013. After over a decade of service to our students and families, we look forward to our continued growth as a community.
