School and Community

Narmer American College (NAC) is a Nursery-Grade 12 international college preparatory school with English as the language of instruction. NAC serves a community of predominately Egyptian and Middle Eastern families seeking an international primary and/or secondary curriculum of education- American, British, or International Baccalaureate. Our families represent the professional segment of Egyptian society plus expatriate families who are in Egypt working for various embassies and private business enterprises.

Accreditation and Association Memberships

  • International Baccalaureate World School, Diploma Programme (IBDP)
  • Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA), USA
  • Accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), USA
  • Member of the Council of International Schools (CIS), USA
  • Approved by the Egyptian Ministry of Education of the Arab Republic of Egypt

Curriculum

The underpinning of the NAC educational programming is the American system of education following the Common Core Standards. Students are consistently being challenged to expand their knowledge and skills and prepare for higher intellectual engagement. We offer Advanced Placement (AP) courses, which are college-level courses offered to grade 11 and 12 students that are much more rigorous than the regular course offerings. The culminating achievement for our graduating students is the completion of requirements and credits leading toward an American high school diploma. Qualified students may earn an additional AP International Diploma (APID) by passing in five AP exams in different subject areas. Additionally, our students have the option of joining the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) starting grade 11. The IBDP is a rigorous and balanced 2-year university preparation program, providing outstanding research-based education, and developing both disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge and understanding.

Activities

NAC recognizes that student involvement beyond the classroom is important for intellectual, physical, and social development. Therefore, an expansive student development program has been organized. The emphasis throughout the spectrum of activities is on competence, character, leadership, and citizenship. Our activities program offers a wide variety of options, ranging from Model United Nations, art, drama, dance, and music to community service and team sports.
