For over twenty years, Rome International School has meant knowledge, opportunity and discovery both personal and intellectual. We believe, as Immanuel Kant taught, that: 'a human being can only become truly human through education.'

Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment, in which children of all nationalities and faiths can explore and respect their own and each other’s cultural and religious heritage. We aspire to equip our students with the skills needed to become life-long learners, so that every child is able to realise their unique gifts and talents and achieve their full potential.

We are the only school in Rome authorized to offer both the IB PYP and the IB DP programmes. We are also an accredited centre for the IGCSE, as validated by Cambridge University for the first two years of High School, thereby ensuring the quality and consistency of a truly international education and a passport to the world's best universities.

Our highly specialised and experienced international staff, who represent 19 different nations, are committed to our students’ education and are there to support, inspire and motivate students. We are a non-denominational school and welcome students from all cultural backgrounds.

The school actively encourages and rewards academic merit. A range of scholarships and awards are available each year.

We also offer a broad variety of extra-curricular activities where students can develop and promote the attributes of the IB Learner Profile.

Students in Grade 3 have the opportunity to study either Arabic or Chinese within the curriculum, taught by mothertongue teachers. French, Chinese and Spanish language courses are also available as extra-curricular options in Elementary allowing students the possibility to continue these courses in the Middle and High School.

Creativity, physical health and well-being is important for all of our students. Middle and High School students have lessons in Art, Music, Drama and P.E. is taught in all years.

Information Communication Technology is embedded in everyday learning. Students across the school have access to banks of laptops and iPads and the school. A thriving Italian department is present in the school and the didactic activities of our Italian subject teachers are carefully coordinated across the school.

Suitability for entrance to our school will be assessed on the basis of each individual case. The admission of external students into the Middle and High school requires success in the entrance tests.

Our school building and campus are specifically designed for 21st century education. Nestled in almost four hectares of natural parkland, our students benefit from ample outdoor play and learning spaces and state-of-the-art facilities. The school is part of the Eco Schools network and proudly flies the Eco School flag.

With a student intake of over 40 different nationalities, Rome International School is the ideal context for a rewarding and progressive educational experience.
