Saint Dominic's International School is Portugal's first IB continuum school, offering the PYP, MYP, and Diploma Programme from age 3 to 19. With over 30 years of IB expertise and 50 years of academic tradition, SDIS continues to pioneer authentic, inquiry-based education grounded in evidence, experience, and enduring values.

Located on the Cascais coast, west of Lisbon, SDIS offers a welcoming and supportive environment where students feel safe, valued, and heard. A strong sense of belonging is fostered through open communication and collaboration, values and skills that, through the Lifelong Learning Programme and the IB Learner Profile, develop into enduring competencies for life. Small class sizes and a stable, highly experienced faculty, allow personalised learning for every child.

With students representing more than 50 nationalities and an international teaching body, the school takes global education seriously. Diversity is intentionally woven into curriculum design, pedagogy and assessment, creating a rich, authentic international learning experience that builds intercultural understanding, embraces multiple perspectives, and develops a genuinely global mindset.

The school's evolving campus includes dedicated buildings for each IB programme, two libraries, design and technology and science laboratories, and sports facilities that support holistic, hands-on learning. Learning extends beyond the classroom through a vibrant After School Programme, offering opportunities for exploration, creativity, and competition, including sports teams that represent the school in national and international tournaments.

SDIS is academically rigorous yet inclusive and supportive. As a non-selective IB school, it provides EAL, SEL, and academic support, helping every learner integrate, adapt, and thrive. The Learning Support Team unites emotional, academic, and language expertise to ensure wellbeing and success at all stages.

Accredited by NEASC, SDIS upholds international standards of quality and continuous improvement. With assessment aligned to global benchmarks and external moderation, SDIS is international not only by design but also by assessment, ensuring learning is measured and recognised worldwide.

Joining the International Schools Partnership (ISP) further extends global opportunities for students, teacher collaboration, and shared learning across continents.
