Stonyhurst is the UK's leading co-educational Catholic boarding and day school for 3-18 year olds. Inspired by the beautiful Stonyhurst estate and the heritage of the world's oldest continuous Jesuit school, our pupils pursue academic excellence alongside spiritual and emotional growth and learn to embody their school motto: "Quant Je Puis", meaning "As Much As I Can", in every activity. The IB mission reflects Stonyhurst's Jesuit mission and identity, in that both organisations seek to develop the whole person - intellectually, physically and emotionally.

Pupils come from the UK and around the world to experience an IB education at Stonyhurst. We offer an extremely full and enriching educational experience and our pupils flourish in a safe, happy, ordered environment and vibrant, close-knit community. Thoughtful, age-appropriate pastoral care encourages all pupils, whether day, weekly boarders or full boarders, to become increasingly self-reliant and considerate global citizens.

Since its introduction in 2013, we have found our IB offering has grown rapidly in popularity at Stonyhurst, and our year 12 IB intake now comprises just under 40% of total admissions into our sixth form. Our academic results for the IB Diploma bear testimony to the hard work and dedication of both highly qualified staff and motivated pupils. Our 2022 average points score in the Diploma was 34.4 and over a third of pupils achieved more than 36 points. The top points score was 42, a feat achieved by less than 4% of pupils worldwide. Our IB pupils consistently perform above the world average and have gone onto prestigious universities in the UK and beyond, in a wide variety of challenging subjects, such as law, economics, medicine and engineering.

We also offer the IB Career-Related Programme with a sport or business career related pathway. With exceptional sports facilities, pupils who take on the IBCP sport related option can expect to study in one of the best environments in the country. This includes a brand new state of the art gym, an exciting outdoor pursuits programme, as well as the recent installation of LTA standard indoor tennis courts. Our global alumni network, as well as strong links with the local business community, can provide unique opportunities for our IBCP business pupils. Of course, these experiences are available for all pupils at Stonyhurst, where they benefit from a huge range of co-curricular options with over 75 clubs and societies running each year.

An IB education at Stonyhurst provides an exceptional foundation for any young person, and we look forward to being a part of your future.
