Taipei Kuei Shan School is an International Baccalaureate World School offering three programmes - PYP, MYP, and DP. It is fully accredited by the Taipei City Government Department of Education and a member of the Association of Christian Schools International.

Kuei Shan was established in 1963 as a K-9 school, founded by Professor Hsiong Hui-Ying as a research project to improve Taiwan Education. Many decades ago, education in Taiwan was a "one-size-fits-all" approach. To allow a holistic development of learners, Professor Hsiong built Kuei Shan as a small school environment with smaller class size to promote active learning, both academically and socially. She practiced the use of unit teaching and theme-based learning to engage students in hands-on and collaborative learning activities. Upon the success of this long-term research, the school continues its commitment to educational research and excellence.

In 2015, the high school program was added, and Kuei Shan’s first DP cohort graduated in 2017. As a small private school, we provide a lively campus community for more than 700 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 by blending educational excellence and an international perspective with Christian values. About 80% of our student body are Taiwan nationals and 20% are from over 15 other countries.

Activities and Service

• The school supports students to participate in a Taiwan team sports program which includes basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, swimming, track & field, and cross-country.
• Students have opportunities to participate in band, string ensemble, choir, worship band, and drama.
• Students have opportunities to conduct a wide range of outreach and community service for underprivileged children and people in need.
• Students participate in student government, scouts, model UN, and Global Issues Network.

Academic Achievement

Our seven cohorts (2017-2023) earned Diploma mean grade and average total points above worldwide average. Students are currently attending four-year universities in various regions - Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, the U.K., and the U.S.
