Founded in Brussels in 1951, ISB is a private school for students from Preschool to Grade 12. Our international student community includes 1300+ students from 60+ different countries, making our campus a culturally rich space that facilitates learning from and with people from all over the world. Set within the beautiful Forêt de Soignes and located just 10 metres away from a UNESCO World Heritage Site, our facilities allow students to benefit from an immersive learning experience, to tailor their learning path to their passions and talents, and to make the school environment a place they are eager to return to every Monday.

Our educational programme is as diverse as our student demographics and is carefully tailored to develop independent learners and international citizens in an environment where all students are included, challenged, and successful.

As school is so much more than the classroom, we believe that enhancing creativity and fostering team spirit is imperative for developing skilled, independent learners, who are equipped to be successful in a working world without borders. Apart from our core academic programme, which is regularly reviewed by mapping and comparing standards from different national systems, ISB offers an extraordinary selection of extracurricular activities in the fields of arts and athletics.

Leaders in Inclusive Academic Excellence

The ISB High School offers an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student is empowered to design their own path to success. With over 120 diverse courses taught by global experts, students can tailor their studies to their interests, needs, and learning styles while developing the character, independence, and personal skills needed to thrive in an interconnected world. At ISB, student wellbeing is central to everything we do. A dedicated team of counsellors provides continuous guidance and support for students and their families as they decide upon their future pathways. Through strong connections with universities, colleges, and employers worldwide, our counselling team ensures every student has the resources and encouragement to pursue their passions and realise their full potential.

Throughout our curriculum, we focus on fostering future-proof expertise, which is adaptable and transferable. All ISB Graduation pathways – such as the US High School Diploma, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, the BTEC programme, or Advanced Placement (AP) courses – open doors to great future opportunities.

We strongly believe that students should be supported and encouraged to follow the path they see fit for their future ambitions. ISB's mission of inclusive academic excellence means that every student who has the possibility of successfully completing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) will be supported to do so, meaning that >70% of our students access the IB Programme. With over 40 IB courses at standard and higher levels, we are proud to offer the widest range of IB courses in Belgium. Our inclusive approach to the IB Programme and diploma results that consistently surpass global averages make ISB stand out as the country's leading inclusive IB school.
