A Mission-Driven Education for a Global Future

With a distinguished history of offering the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) since 1977, UWC South East Asia (UWCSEA) has a long-standing commitment to academic excellence. Our K–12 school offers both day and boarding options at two campuses in Singapore: Dover and East. The College is guided by the UWC Mission to make education a force to unite people, nations, and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. This philosophy steers the holistic, concept-based curriculum, which serves a vibrant and diverse community of over 6,000 students representing 117 nationalities. Diversity is one of our main strengths and we welcome students transferring from different countries and education systems.

IB students at UWCSEA benefit from our holistic Learning Programme built upon five interconnected elements: Academics, Service, Outdoor Education, Activities, and Personal and Social Education. This framework employs interdisciplinary and experiential learning to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values to become compassionate, young people who collaborate, lead and care deeply about those around them and the planet.

Preparing for and thriving during IB

UWCSEA students transition into IB from our Grade 9 and 10 programme tailored to provide an outstanding foundation for the rigours of the IBDP. Designed by our highly experienced educators, it prioritises academic excellence and future-ready skills while cultivating passion, purpose, and preparing students for a future that is constantly changing. In Grade 11, new and continuing students may choose to complete the full IB Diploma Programme or pursue a selection of IB courses – a personalised academic path. All students who meet graduation requirements are awarded a UWCSEA High School Diploma.

A wide variety of IB courses

Across our Dover and East campuses, UWCSEA offers 40 IB courses and many language options. Every year, a substantial number of students graduate with a bilingual diploma. We welcome English Language Learners who receive a tailored level of support so that they can access and be challenged by our Learning Programme. Other diverse subject offerings include Dance, Environmental Systems and Societies, Psychology; and Sports, Exercise and Health Science.

Pioneering the Future of the IB

UWCSEA is the first school in Asia, and one of only four in the world to offer the innovative two-year IB course, Systems Transformation: Leadership for Change. Developed in partnership with the IBO, it is a mark of the organisation's confidence in UWCSEA's innovative approach to education. Through rigorous, real-world project-based experiences, students learn to understand and navigate complex systems related to peace and sustainability. The curriculum assesses skills in five distinct areas: Changemaker Mindset, Design Thinking, Systems Thinking, Leadership, and Project and Change Management. This approach fosters resilience, collaboration, and adaptability, providing students with essential, real-world skillsets.

Character-building CAS Options

The UWCSEA Activities programme offers many choices for sports, arts, leadership, and special interests, while our long-running Service programme connects students with hundreds of opportunities in local and overseas organisations. Students learn to enact the UWC mission by choosing from an array of options that appeal to their unique interests and talents. In this way, they also fulfil IB CAS requirements.

Growth Beyond Academics

In High School, students enjoy a high level of independence, leading on issues that matter to them while learning to rise to challenges and navigate setbacks. Our Personal and Social Education programme provides structured self-development and reflection, while a unique Careers Programme offers company visits, internships, and networking facilitated by our supportive community of parents and over 30,000 alumni.

Continued Success and Achievement

We celebrate the resilience, courage and confidence of all our graduates. The Class of 2025, comprising 605 students, achieved a 98.7% IBDP pass rate. More than 30% of these students scored 40 points or above, and an impressive 152 students were awarded a bilingual diploma in 25 different languages. Each year, an average of 99% of UWCSEA graduates enrol in top universities around the world.
