In March 2017, Villiers School became only the second school in Ireland, and the only boarding school, to be authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) as a senior cycle curriculum option, ideal for students with a global mindset. Villiers believes in a shared IB Schools philosophy: a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education for all its students. Academic excellence is a process of both formal and informal education, which traverses all programmes at Villiers School. It is intended that Villiers students will see education, in its' wider context, as a limitless and unending process to be enjoyed for a lifetime.
The DP at Villiers has grown from five students in the first cohort, the graduating class of 2020, to twenty students in our fourth cohort, the current DP Year 1 class. We are very proud to have a 100% DP graduation rate, and our average DP results are consistent with global IB average results.
Villiers School is fortunate to have growing numbers of students joining our DP class from a variety of cultures, backgrounds, and experiences, all of which adds to the intrinsic diversity that we value and foster within our school community. We currently have 18 nationalities represented within the DP in Villiers.
As we celebrate our 200th anniversary in 2021, management and staff at Villiers School embrace and maintain the traditional values of the school and balance them with modern, state of the art educational facilities, to develop an environment that engenders growth on an academic, cultural, and social level. Villiers offers both day and boarding options and we are home to approximately 150 boarders. The essence of Villiers is our inclusive family-based community. We are wholeheartedly committed to providing a safe, caring, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Villiers is an environment where both individuality and community mindedness can flourish, and every student can achieve their full potential.
