La Trobe University has confirmed its status as a world-leading university in the 2023 QS World University subject rankings. Proving its dominance once again in Sport-related subjects, the University rose nine places, further cementing its position in the top 50 universities in the world.

The University also continued to demonstrate its excellence in health-related disciplines, with Nursing remaining in the top 100 in the world, and Anatomy and Physiology climbing into that band for the first time. The broad subject area of Life Sciences and Medicine rose to 217th in the world.

“Sport continues to be a very strong focus of the University, with the official opening last year of our state-of-the-art La Trobe Sports Park - soon to be home to the Matildas - and a purpose-built facility for teaching, research and community participation,” Professor Dewar said.

“We are also deeply committed to our health disciplines, producing thousands of highly-skilled nurses, midwives and allied health professionals each year, as well as conducting world-leading health research that makes a difference to communities in Australia and globally.

“Our Melbourne campus also boasts high-tech clinical teaching spaces for nursing and midwifery students, completed in 2021, ensuring they have access to the highest quality teaching, and are ready for the world of work upon graduation.”
